Three Services, Clearly Defined
Each service at Cogwright has a fixed scope, a fixed price in Ringgit Malaysia, and a written output document. Choose the path that matches what your piece needs.

How We Approach Every Service
Before any work is agreed, we identify which of the three service paths applies to the piece. Owners describe what they have observed — a gasket that looks worn, a chronograph hand that does not return cleanly, or a piece that has not been on the bench in a decade — and we match that description to the appropriate scope.
Once the service is agreed, the watchmaker assigned to that job handles it from receipt through to return. If inspection reveals something outside the agreed scope, we contact the owner and describe the finding before deciding how to proceed. Nothing is added to the bill without a conversation.
All output documents — certificates, traces, condition reports — are produced on our letterhead, signed by the watchmaker, and provided to the owner on collection. A copy is retained on file.
STAGE 01
Receipt and initial description
Written receipt issued. Service path identified and agreed. Bench time communicated as a range.
STAGE 02
Inspection within agreed scope
Watchmaker examines the piece. Any out-of-scope findings noted and communicated before action.
STAGE 03
Service performed
Work carried out on in-house equipment. Photographs taken at key stages where relevant.
STAGE 04
Documentation and collection
Signed output document prepared. Owner contacted. Piece collected at Damansara Utama or by prior arrangement.

Water Resistance Testing & Seal Renewal
Dry and wet pressure testing to the case's rated depth, followed by replacement of case-back, crown and pusher gaskets and re-greasing of the tube. Written for owners who swim, dive or simply live in a humid climate — Malaysia's year-round humidity alone is reason enough to check seals on a regular schedule. The job takes two to five working days.
- Dry air-pressure and wet testing both performed
- Case-back, crown, and pusher gaskets replaced
- Tube re-greased
- Signed pressure certificate issued
- Gasket sizes fitted on record
- Guidance on retest interval provided
BEST FOR
Dive watches, sport watches, pieces worn in water or high humidity. Also recommended for any watch whose gaskets have not been replaced in the last two years.
BEST FOR
Pieces where the chronograph seconds hand does not return cleanly to zero, where the start-stop action has become sticky, or where the timing function has become unreliable after a period of non-use.

Chronograph Module Service
Dismantling of the timing module, cleaning of the column wheel or cam, renewal of clutch and hammer springs, and re-timing of the start, stop and return-to-zero sequence. Suited to pieces where the seconds hand no longer lands cleanly on zero. Bench time is four to six weeks. Delivered with a module parts list, before-and-after timing traces in four positions, and a 24-month service coverage period.
- Full module dismantling and cleaning
- Column wheel or cam cleaned
- Clutch and hammer springs renewed
- Start, stop and RTZ sequence re-timed
- Module parts list provided
- Before-and-after timing traces, four positions
- 24-month service coverage period

Full Mechanical Overhaul
Complete disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, mainspring and barrel renewal, jewel and pivot inspection, fresh lubrication, and adjustment in six positions, with case and bracelet refinishing included where the owner wishes. Intended for pieces that have run for eight years or more without bench work. The schedule runs six to nine weeks. Includes a full photographic record, a parts provenance sheet, and a written condition report on wear that was left untouched by choice.
- Complete disassembly of movement
- Ultrasonic cleaning of all components
- Mainspring and barrel renewal
- Jewel and pivot inspection
- Fresh lubrication throughout
- Adjustment in six positions
- Case and bracelet refinishing (optional)
- Full photographic record
- Parts provenance sheet

BEST FOR
Pieces that have run for eight or more years without bench work, watches with noticeably reduced power reserve, movements showing inconsistent rate, or heirlooms being returned to regular wear.
