Brought in my Seiko SKX for a gasket renewal before a dive trip to Tioman. The pressure certificate they issued showed the tested depth and the exact gasket sizes fitted. That was more information than I had ever received from any previous shop. The whole thing took three working days — arrived Tuesday, collected Thursday. I will be back for the annual check.

The chronograph on my Tissot had been landing about two seconds past zero for a while and I kept putting it off. Razif explained exactly what the column wheel issue was and what the renewal would involve before I agreed to anything. The turnaround was five weeks, which was within the range they told me upfront. The timing traces they included in the documentation were a first for me — I could see the before-and-after difference clearly. Only minor thing: I'd have liked a status update at the halfway point.

My father's Omega Seamaster had not been opened in twelve years. I was nervous about leaving it somewhere unfamiliar. Priya was straightforward about what the overhaul involved and gave me a written receipt when I dropped it off. The photographic record they sent on completion showed every stage. The condition report noted some case wear they left untouched on my request. Eight weeks total — I collected in early June. The piece is running to time again.

I had two watches tested — a G-Shock I take snorkelling and an old Rolex I inherited. Both came back with signed certificates. For the Rolex they found a hairline crack in the crystal during inspection and called me before doing anything. I appreciated that. Pricing was exactly as quoted on the site. No surprises at collection.

Dropped off a Valjoux-based chronograph that had been sitting unworn for about four years. The start-stop action was sticky and the seconds hand return was inconsistent. Razif was clear about the scope — module only, not a full movement service — and the price. Came back cleaned and re-timed. There was a small scratch on the case back that wasn't there before, which they acknowledged and noted. Timing traces showed a big improvement in the before-after comparison.

My grandmother's Swiss ladies' dress watch came in for an overhaul. It hadn't run for about fifteen years. I was worried about losing original parts but the parts provenance sheet listed everything replaced and why. The condition report was thorough — they photographed the dial and noted a hairline that was already there before the service. I will have it pressure tested separately once I add a new crown. Excellent communication throughout.

Three Job Records
JOB RECORD · 01 · May 2025
Vintage Diver, Unknown Depth Rating
The Situation
A 1970s dress-diver with no depth rating marked on the dial. The owner wanted to take it on a shallow reef snorkel and needed to understand what, if any, water exposure was appropriate.
What Was Done
Dry pressure test performed to establish effective depth. Case-back and crown gaskets replaced. Re-greased. Wet test confirmed to 30m. Certificate issued noting the tested value and the recommendation not to exceed 20m in active use.
Outcome
Owner has clear documentation of the tested depth and the gasket specification. Piece was taken on two snorkel trips without water ingress. Scheduled for retest in 18 months.
"I finally know what this watch can handle. That matters more to me than the service cost."
JOB RECORD · 02 · April 2025
Column-Wheel Chronograph, Inconsistent RTZ
The Situation
A column-wheel chronograph where the elapsed seconds hand had developed an inconsistent return — sometimes landing two seconds past zero, occasionally on zero, with no predictable pattern.
What Was Done
Module fully dismantled. Column wheel detent spring found to be fatigued. Clutch spring renewed. Module re-timed over three sessions with timing traces taken after each adjustment pass. Total bench time: five weeks.
Outcome
RTZ function now consistent. Owner received module parts list, before-and-after traces, and 24-month coverage documentation. The before trace showed variation of ±2.3 seconds; the after trace showed ±0.2 seconds.
"Seeing the timing traces explained more about what was wrong than any verbal description could have."
JOB RECORD · 03 · March–May 2025
Heirloom Automatic, Unworn for 11 Years
The Situation
A Swiss automatic passed down through a family, last serviced by a watchmaker whose business had since closed. No service history available. The mainspring was exhausted. Power reserve had dropped to under six hours.
What Was Done
Full overhaul: disassembly, ultrasonic clean, new mainspring and barrel fitted, all pivots inspected under magnification. Jewels cleaned. Fresh lubrication. Six-position adjustment to within +4/−2 seconds per day. Case and bracelet refinished at owner's request. Nine weeks total.
Outcome
Full photographic record provided. Parts provenance sheet documented the mainspring and barrel source. Condition report noted a worn jewel that was functional and left in place on the owner's instruction, with its status on record for the next service.
"The documentation means the next watchmaker — whoever and whenever that is — will know exactly what was done and what was left."
